“Self Publish, Be Happy is an organisation founded by Bruno Ceschel in 2010 with the aim of celebrating and promoting self-published photobooks through events (such as fairs, exhibitions and conferences), publications and online exposure. Self Publish, Be Happy also organises workshops that help artists and photographers make and publish their own books.”

They are now accepting book submissions again. The selected books will be featured on the website and possibly showcased in our next events in Toronto, NYC, Dublin, Venice, etc. If you are interested send an email to selfpublished.behappy@gmail.com and they’ll send you the submission guidelines.

The Autumn Book Arts Fayre will be back at Turner House on Saturday 9th October 2010 from 11am-4.30pm!

Ffotogallery’s biannual Book Arts Fayre’s celebrate self and independent publishing in all its forms. This free event with stalls, music and live art-making welcomes all to explore and engage in a wealth of contemporary book arts and print practice from Wales and beyond.

They are looking for artists and collectives who would like to host a free stall space at our forthcoming fayre or participate by submitting works for inclusion on our ‘Various Artists’ stall.

If you would like to book a space please send the team a description and pictures of works (max. 5 images) with any links to online content to turnerhouse@ffotogallery.org or the gallery address below before Friday 27th August 2010.

Small Publishers Fair 2010

The bookRoom will be showing the collection at the Small Publishers Fair on the 12th & 13th November 2010.

“The international fair celebrating books by contemporary artists, poets, writers, composers, book designers, and their publishers; together with a programme of readings and talks. With more than 50 publishers taking part there will be thousands of books and other editions to browse and buy!”

The bookRoom will be in attendance at The London Art Book Fair on the 24-26th September 2010. We will be showcasing the collection along with new additions from recent 2010 graduates.
